Who is behind the new proposed curriculum for sex education in Washoe County, and what does it include?
Currently the Sex Health And Responsibility Education (S.H.A.R.E.) advisory committee is meeting to revise Washoe County School District’s current sex-education curriculum. Advocates for Youth is the organization that created the purposed curriculum.
Advocates for Youth wants to expand sex education from a scientific explanation of reproductive organs and sexual risk avoidance to a subjective explanation and exploration of sexuality and gender fluidity, through an intensive K-12 curriculum.
Advocates for Youth is a politically-charged activist group looking to use Nevada’s children to advance their progressive social agenda.

There is a clear and concise objective to the Advocates for Youth curriculum to impose a controversial political agenda of social issues as well as undermine the faith and values of many families in the Washoe County area.
